Here is a set of essays comparing different NBA basketball players.

These both have the comparison and contrast text-structure, both using the Venn diagram as the visual organizer. The first essay, using the straightforward Venn diagram, compares Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant. The second essay builds up on the first one in that another item (Kevin Garnett) is added to the two already compared – thus making use of the triple Venn diagram as the visual organizer.

Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant have many differences but they also have similarities. These are the differences between the two players. The nickname of Kobe is Black Mamba, while Paul’s nickname is The Truth. Paul was born on October 13, 1977 in Oakland, California. On the other hand, Kobe was born on August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Paul will be 33 in October, while Kobe will be 32 in August. Paul’s team is the Boston Celtics, but Kobe’s team is the LA Lakers. Paul went to college in Kansas. Kobe, instead of going to college, went straight to the NBA. On the other hand, these are the similarities of the two players. Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant are both shooting guards. They both played in NBA All – Stars. They are both African Americans. They are both NBA conference finals MVP’s. Both their teams won NBA championships. I want to know more about Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant because I learned about their similarities and differences.

Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett are basketball players. They all have different skills, that is why they all are popular. Paul Pierce was born on October 13, 1977. He will be 33 in October. Kobe Bryant was born on August 23, 1978. He will be 32 in August. Kevin Garnett was born on May 19, 1976. He just turned 34 this May.

            Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett all have similarities and differences. Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant are both shooting guards, while Kevin Garnett is a power forward. Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett went straight to the NBA from high school, but Paul Pierce went to college in Kansas. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are both from Boston Celtics. However, Kobe Bryant is from LA Lakers. Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant are both NBA Conference Finals MVP’s. On the other hand, Kevin Garnett has not won an NBA Conference Finals MVP. Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett both have NBA All-Star MVP’s, but Paul Pierce does not have any. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were both part of Boston Celtics when they won the 2008 championships. They won instead of the team of Kobe Bryant, which is the LA Lakers.

Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett also share similarities. They are all basketball players in the NBA. They are also all African Americans. They are all players in the NBA All-Stars. Another similarity is that they have all won NBA championships. The most important similarity is that the 3 players are my favorites.
