THE REAL COWBOYS (Part 1)

BY JOLO

Who were the cowboys? The first cowboys were the Mexicans or the Indians. After the civil war in the U.S., there were discharged soldiers and black slaves who had no jobs. So they decided to become cowboys.

The cowboy trade began in the 16th century in Mexico. The cowboy’s job was to brand cows. They sold cows to have money. Aside from the meat, cows are used for leather, tallow or fat for candles and soap. They need to get the escaping cows using lariat or lasso. They also need to be a vet when a cow is sick and find a lost cow.

The dangers that they faced are many. They might be run over by a stampede. When they cross a river they might get drowned. They might get killed by lightning and get sick with pneumonia.
Jolo likes to play RPG games in his spare time.
