My Vacation in Japan

By Raffy

I have gone to Japan for six days. I left the Philippines the day after Christmas. I was with my parents, cousins, Tito and Tita.
Japan had a cold weather so I always wore a jacket when we went out. I ate so many foods like tempura, sushi, meat and tonkatsu.
I also went to so many cities and attractions like the following: Shijuku, Tokyo, Harajuku, Disney Resort and Akihabara. I enjoyed Disney Resort the most because it has rides and restaurants. I liked my trip to Japan because it was fun. I would like to go back to Japan next year.

Raffy enjoys playing chess and reading books of Captain Underpants.

Body Languages in Sports

By Ken

Basketball has several body languages. First, charging and blocking are sets of foul. The charging foul is being used in offense while blocking foul is being used in defense. Second is when the players tap each other’s behind which means “Good job” or "Its okay." Third is “high five” that means a sign of friendship and working together.

Cycling has several body languages as well. First, the lap winner raise his hand. Second, the champion raises his bike over his head to tell that he is the strongest. Lastly, the leader wears yellow shirt while the lap winner wears green shirt.

Boxing has several body languages. First, rope-a-dope means rest on the ropes in the middle of the ring. The boxer uses ropes around the ring to rest if they feel tired during a fight. Second, when the referee raises the hand of the boxer, it means he is the winner.

Cockfighting has several sign languages. First, holding one finger means we’re number one. Second, a two finger sign means victory. Lastly, three fingers mean a grand slam.

Ken is a huge basketball fan. He likewise plays the game in school and in his local league.

European Vacation

By Juani

For my Christmas vacation, I went to London and Paris. First, I went to London. But I will only tell my favorite stuff. One of my favorite events was going to the London Dungeon. It was like a tour but a scary one. The people were so scary because they had blood all over them! We also went to the Labyrinth of the Lost. In the Labyrinth of the Lost, there were so many mirrors. It was so hard to find our way out. Last, we went to the Sweeny Todd part which was so scary too because it was pitch black and he was touching my hair. I liked London Dungeon very much because it was so fun!

Another favorite event I did was watching “Wicked” ( a musical). It was so cool because a character in the play (Elphaba) flew! I also watched the “Lion King” too but it wasn’t so nice because I did not like the costumes.

Then, we went to Paris. In Paris, I saw my Uncle and he took us to go to the boat ride to see
Paris. The boat ride was very nice because it was heated! After that, we had a luxury dinner. There was a coat rack and the restaurant was owned by My Uncle Luca’s friend! The next day, we went to the Notre Dame Cathedral! Notre Dame was so beautiful because of the gargoyles. Then, we saw the Eiffel Tower, it was really tall but we couldn’t go up because the line was too long.
All in all my vacation was great!
Juani just received an award for having the most improved performance in his class. He says it was his first award and is really proud of it!

My Trip to Hong Kong

By Matthew

When I went to Hong Kong, my parents and I went to a nice hotel called Guan Dong Hotel. After that, we went to a nice restaurant in Pacific Coffee Company. My mom was using the computer there while dad and I were playing chess. The next day, we went to Victoria Peak so I can go to my favorite place, Electronic Arts (EA). When I went there, I was playing Need for Speed Carbon on the X Box after I ate in Burger King. Next, my parents and I went back to the hotel so I can play with my PSP. The other day, we rode a boat to Macao after I bought a toy. My mom and dad and I went to look for a restaurant so I can create the toy. When we got back to the Hong Kong site, we went back to the hotel and played with my PSP while I was charging it. One day later, the toy that I was maxing is an Exo-Force. Since we went back to the Hong Kong site, we went back to the hotel. Two days later, we went to the airport. We were riding on a airplane to go back to my sweet home, Philippines.

Hong Kong is not exciting to go to but it’s a big place. Next month, I will be going to England with my dad and my brother.

Matthew likes to play soccer with his friends. He also plays chess and loves assembling toys.

Communication

By Jakey

There are lots of ways to communicate. First, we can use the phone at home, second, we can use the fax machine to send a copy of homework to your friend and last, we can use the e-mail in the computer. There have been many changes in how we communicate before. Before, they used drums, smoke signals and sent messages through letters. Today, communication has vast changes like first, the semiconducters, which can conduct electricity faster,

Second, the computer chip which can hold and process lots of information. And last, the digital form which uses numbers to speed processing of information.

In the future they might change the ways of communication.

Will they think our communication is slow?
What do you think? You choose.
